Student Life
Within the framework of Baku Higher Oil School’s socio-cultural activity, persistent measures are being implemented to raise the intellectual level of young people, identify talented students, effectively implement their knowledge and skills, protect national and spiritual values in the context of our country's integration into the globalized world, promote the ideology of statehood and strengthen young people’s patriotism. Maintenance of order and discipline in the university, exhibition of respect and esteem towards all members of BHOS family, promotion of students' interest in science, formation of corporate culture, enrichment of students’ mindset, cultivation of their common sense, self-confidence and tolerance, improvement of students’ self-governed structures’ activities, realization of individually implemented projects and ideas are among the main targets.
BHOS students actively participate in various events, seminars, scientific-practical conferences, festivals, forums, meetings, exhibitions and actions held at the university at the national and international levels. As part of activities aimed at nurturing students as intelligent and healthy citizens, BHOS constantly organizes various intellectual and sports competitions and tournaments for them. BHOS organizes trips to museums, reserves, cultural centers and various regions to help students effectively spend their leisure time, increase their intellectual level and strengthen their community spirit. As part of extracurricular activities, various events are organised to help students develop their skills in singing, dancing, art reading, painting, photography, acting and directing. BHOS students’ performance of a two-part play based on the comedy “A Story about the Botanist-Doctor Monsieur Jordan and the Famous Sorcerer Dervish Mastali Shah” by the founder of Azerbaijani drama, great thinker, public figure Mirza Fatali Akhundzade on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater, as well as their performance of the operetta “If not that one, then this one” by the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater shows that the university not only trains highly qualified specialists in the field of engineering, but also nurtures its students to be worthy citizens for Azerbaijan.
Clubs & Organizations
In order to help students solve their social problems and effectively spend their leisure time, various clubs operate independently under the Student Trade Union Committee and the Student Youth Organization of Baku Higher Oil School.
These organizations support the participation of students in management and the development of their organizational, initiative and creative skills.
