Educational and Methodological Department

The Educational and Methodological Department plans, organizes and supervises educational and methodological work.  The main responsibilities of the department include the following:

  • Conducting, coordinating and supervising educational and methodological work
  • Distribution of teaching load among departments in accordance with the BHOS curricula
  • Organization and control of the distribution of teaching load among department teachers (professors and teachers of the department, assistants and teachers invited from outside)
  • Preparation of current accounting and reporting documents related to the organization of education
  • Generalization and dissemination of best practices in educational and methodological work
  • Coordination of the professional training activities of faculties, departments and other structural divisions
  • Regulation of educational and methodological activities of the student contingent

 

The Educational and Methodological Department performs the following functions:

  • Preparation and approval of orders for educational and specialized (production, research, teaching, etc.) practice of students
  • Calculation of the volume of academic workload by department according to the curricula, control over its distribution, preparation and approval of the relevant order
  • Consideration of issues related to the involvment of freelance specialists in the teaching process
  • Supervision of the preparation of curricula and programs for new specialties (specializations) within the framework of relevant standards
  • Providing proposals to the Rector in coordination with the Vice-Rector for Education and Scientific Affairs for updating the curricula and programs for the existing specialties (specializations) and supervising the process
  • Supervision of the preparation and approval of class schedules for semesters
  • Analysis of students' academic performance, results of current and midterm exams for each semester;
  • Providing students graduating from BHOS with diplomas (diploma supplements), and, if necessary, duplicates of diplomas, academic references, and academic transcripts
  • Ensuring the preparation and issuance of educational certificates and transcripts to current students
  • Implementation of procedures related to the transfer of students from one higher education institution to another, granting students academic leave, expulsion and reinstatement of students in accordance with current legislation
  • Preparation of a plan for admission of students to the BHOS bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs for each academic year
  • Monitoring the selection and timely registration of subjects by students according to the curriculum and analysis of the registration results for each semester
  • Implementation of issues related to academic mobility of students
  • Regular processing of student data into relevant education-related systems
  • Supervision of the timely approval of topics and supervisors of diploma theses
  • Carrying out the necessary documentation for organizing educational exams
  • Supervision of the final state certification of undergraduate and graduate students
  • Ensuring the preparation and approval of orders for the transfer of students from course to course
  • Conducting documentation work on exchange students based on contractual standards with foreign and local universities, ensuring the processing of their data in local BHOS systems
  • Implementation of necessary work to prepare BHOS for state and international accreditation
  • Preparation of orders for students who have entered the first year of bachelor's and master's programs, their inclusion in the local BHOS systems  and the protection of their personal information according to the letters of the State Examination Center  
  • Preparation of educational, methodological and statistical data and reports
  • Organizing teaching-related work in cooperation with other departments
  • Supervision of the transfer of documents to the archive by subdivisions, destruction of outdated documents.
  • Carrying out office work in the department
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety, industrial sanitation and fire safety requirements.
