Foundation Course
The Foundation Course of Baku Higher Oil School was organized to teach students the knowledge and skills necessary for the bachelor's program. The Foundation Course consists of two parts (English language and Information and Communication Technologies). The main mission is to train students of Baku Higher Oil School as world-class specialists with a modern outlook in a globalized world, as well as to develop their English language skills. Professional teaching staff use special intensive methods to provide students with top-quality education within the one-year program.
As a university that meets international standards, BHOS provides education in English for both local and international students. In this context, it is essential for BHOS students to have an advanced level of English in order for them to be able to participate in international student exchange and internship programs and projects. The English Language and Humanities Centre teaches students English with the use of modern interactive methods. The priority goal of the Foundation Course is to teach an advanced level of English to first year students of 5-year bachelor's degree program. First year students who successfully pass the semester exam or international language exams at the end of the academic year advance to the 2nd year of bachelor's degree program.

The Foundation Course of Baku Higher Oil School was organized to teach students the knowledge and skills necessary for the bachelor's program. Professional teaching staff use special intensive methods to provide students with necessary knowledge on application of ICT in engineering and programming basics within the one-year program. Within the “Application of Information and Communication Technologies in Engineering” course students acquire necessary skills in data operations, number systems, computer architecture, operating systems, office programs, computer networks, Python programming language. Foundation Course students are provided with learning material, including textbooks prepared by BHOS teachers, additional books related to the courses, and presentations. Starting from Foundation Course, students participate in major projects and research activities.
