     University  Library hosted a training on EBSCO Discovery Service ( EDS ) on April 29.2015 at Baku Higher Oil School  with Mrs. Yryna Krejcarova, Account Executive, CIS countries, EBSCO Information Services   and Mr. Dalibor Parac – Discovery Service Engineer.

      Mrs. Yryna Krejcarova introduced EBSCO company and EDS, a customizable discovery tool that can provide a fast, single search and comprehensive content of the library collection, highly refined relevancy ranking, elaborate indexing, and inclusion of high-end indexes of searches, and instant access to full text articles included in the library subscription. 

       The participants were provided with experience on the mechanics and special features of EDS and were also trained on the techniques in conducting simple to sophisticated searches with Mr. Dalibor Parac.

       The training was expected to enhance The BHOS academic community search skills that will teachers with the knowledge on EDS service. On the other hand, the EDS service is expected to provide users/clients with quality information to meet their research needs with less effort and time. 

        A trial to EDS was previously requested from the service provider, the EBSCO Publishing. Before the end of this  year, EDS is expected to be part of the BHOS Library system. The use of this system targets to meet one of the University Library goals that is to maximize the use of information resources.
