World Teachers Day commemorated at Baku Higher Oil School

          World Teachers’ Day, which is celebrated on October 5, was commemorated at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS). Opening the meeting, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov extended his congratulations to all teachers and professors of the Higher School. He emphasized the role of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in development and implementation of the state policy in the field of education aimed at support of teachers’ place in the society and their activities. Speaking about participation of President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev in the opening of the new modern campus of BHOS, the Rector said that this visit became a vivid evidence of the state attention to issues of education. In the frame of this strategy, he said, necessary reforms are successfully carried out to enhance the quality of training of young generation and the national educational system on the whole.

 

          First Vice-President of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Khoshbakht Yusifzade told that the profession of teacher always was one of the most reputable and honorable professions in the society. In his words, teachers play a very important role in upbringing new generation and training well-educated citizens of Azerbaijan who are able to make a significant contribution to social and economic development of the country. “We all shall pay tribute to our teachers for helping us to become true citizens,” said Khoshbakht Yusifzade.

 

          One of the BHOS first graduates Gulnar Guseinly who received Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering and works now at SOCAR Polymer company expressed her sincere gratitude to the Higher School teachers and professors. They have dedicated their lives to a very important job, she said, and reflect the best features and qualities of representatives of the profession of a teacher.

 

          At the meeting, a group of teachers and professors of BHOS were awarded with honorable diplomas for successes and achievements in their work. At the end, a holiday concert was held.
