BHOS Repository has entered in the ranking web of repositories of world universities
Baku Higher Oil School Repository has entered in the ranking web of repositories of world universities. Inasmuch as, digital library of Baku Higher Oil School has been listed in January 2015 ranking results of «Webometrics Ranking of World Universities» that includes repositories of more than 2200 higher education institutions (http://repositories.webometrics.info/en/Europe/Azerbaijan).
Furthermore, BHOS repository has been registered through 2 leading world academic repositories.
DOAR (Directory of Open Access Repositories), ROAR (Registry of Open Acess Repositories) ROARMAP (Registry of Open Acess Repositories Mandates and Policy).
Ranking criteria for the inclusion are – visibility, size, rich files and scientific articles. Webometrics ranking list referred to the indicators of universal and specialized search engines assessment for characterizing the web popularization of web sources of higher education institutions and checking the essence of given information. The list is renewed twice a year and the results are published in the website of Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (www.wembomertics.info).
BHOS repository (http://dspace.bhos.edu.az) runs via DSpace program software established as a result of joint collaboration of Hewlett-Packard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The program began first operation in 2002 as a system supported by the libraries of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. DSpace software program is a platform providing the longterm preservation of digital materials for academic research.
Currently BHOS repository is becoming rich with the collection comprising the whole publication texts of BHOS faculty and researchers. For the effectiveness of the repository the colleagues of BHOS submit their research results to the library constantly. It involves the theses, dissertations, published and to be published scientific articles. Besides, the repository covers the teaching materials, digital collection of materials, personal pages of leading lecturers and scholars, library materials and etc.
