BHOS and Kings College London discussed bilateral cooperation

Head of International Marketing, Nelly Sologashvili and Noomi Weinberg, Senior International Officer at King's College London, one of the leading universities in the world, visited Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).

Welcoming the guests at Baku Higher Oil School, Elmar Gasimov, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School, talked about the history of BHOS, its mission and objectives as well as its strategies and educational systems mainly aimed at training highly qualified English speaking specialists in line with international industrial requirements in Azerbaijan and meeting the growing need for professional English speaking experts in the industry and technical fields. He emphasized the close relations between BHOS and UK Heriot-Watt University, as well as the other higher educational institutions specialized in Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering, and oil and gas companies where BHOS students had increased their practical knowledge and competencies.

Mr. Gasimov also informed the attending guest about BHOS Campus, its contemporary facilities and opportunities underlining the fact of being the largest in the Caucasus Region.

Mr. Gasimov mentioned that BHOS management interested in building close cooperation with King's College London to benefit from exchange programs in Chemical Engineering. He invited the President of King's College London to Baku to meet with BHOS and other higher educational institutions.

Representatives of King's College London expressed their satisfaction with being at BHOS, gave detailed information about the university and also expressed interest in supporting foreign doctorates at King's College London through the exchange programs.

The meeting lasted with discussions on the perspectives for mutual cooperation, existing possibilities for receiving master and doctorates of science at King's College London, as well as the proposals for the provision of professional training courses at BHOS by the specialists of King's College London, and suggestions for building further bilateral relations between the universities.
