      Initiated by the Knowledge Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Republic ‘Say ‘No’ to Drug Addiction’ workshop was held at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS). BHOS management, professors and lecturers, students, lead specialist of the above Foundation Ramila Gurbanli and physician from the HIV prevention center of Health Ministry of Azerbaijan Republic Dilshad Mahmudova participated at the workshop.

       Ms. Dilshad Mahmudova conducted the workshop. Opening the meeting BHOS Vice-Rector for Training, Science and International Relations Ramiz Humbatov talked about the significance of the workshop, the importance of combat drug addiction problem, which turned to be the misfortune of present time, constantly drawing attention of the publicity to it and raise awareness of youth in this connection. 

        Physician from the HIV prevention center of Health Ministry of Azerbaijan Republic Dilshad Mahmudova talked about drug addiction, its negative effects in society and the tragedies the drug addicts had to face. She stressed that drug addiction caused speedy spread of contagious diseases. In addition, Dilshad Mahmudova informed the attendees about the signs of drug addiction, drugs, the way they affect human life and society, their damaging effect for health, prevention works carried out to combat drug addiction and National legislation adopted in our country in this respect. Physician called young people to take care of their health, stay away from harmful habits and join any kind of awareness rising events dedicated to the above issue. Then the attendees watch a video record on the misfortunes caused by drug addiction. The workshop was completed by question and answers session.

        It should be noted that ‘Say ‘No’ to Drug Addiction’ workshop mainly aimed at raising awareness of students informing them about troubles it entails in the society urging students to lead healthy life being estranged from drugs.
