BakuHigher Oil School hosts opening of Scientific Conference on ‘Intelligent Systems and Cybersecurity’
Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted the opening of the 7th International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Researchers on “Intelligent Systems and Cybersecurity” dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Speaking at the event, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov noted that today, the implementation of intelligent systems and ensuring cybersecurity in all fields is acquiring particular significance, and the conference serves as a platform for discussing promising ideas and developing innovative projects in this area. “The fact that Baku Higher Oil School has held its third international conference over the past month indicates that a favorable academic environment has been established at BHOS for students and young researchers.”
Head of the Information Technology Department of Baku Higher Oil School Naila Allahverdiyeva said that out of 279 applications submitted to the conference, 182 theses that met academic requirements were accepted. “28 applications were received from universities in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, Malta, and Uzbekistan. All theses submitted to the conference by students and young researchers will be published with a DOI identification number.”
Acting Rector of Sumgayit State University Aminaga Sadigov emphasized that in an era of rapid digitalization and growing demand for highly qualified professionals, higher education institutions bear a significant responsibility. In this context, he commended the scientific conference held at BHOS.
Yang Tianxiao, General Director of Huawei Azerbaijan; Elviz Ismayilov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University; and Sanan Safaraliyev, Head of the Cyber Defense Department of Kapital Bank and a graduate of Baku Higher Oil School, also delivered speeches at the event. They wished the young researchers success.
Following the speeches, Fatima Aliyeva, a third-year student at the Information Security Department of BHOS, gave a presentation on her scientific work.
The conference continued its work in the sections "Intelligent Systems and Applications" and "Cybersecurity and Secure Computing Systems".
