     The tribute was given to the victims of the accident that happened as the result of a fire on an offshore oil platform in the Guneshli field. According to the decision of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev on designation December 6 as a day of national mourning, the flags at the premises of BHOS were at half-mast.

 

     In addition, the victims of the tragedy were commemorated with minute of silence at the lecturing halls.

 

      BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov while meeting with the students at the lecturing halls talked to them. On behalf of BHOS management, professors and administration Mr. Gasimov extended deep condolence to the families of the killed oilmen saying that he was sharing their grief. Stating that oilmen’s work is difficult, responsible and honorable Elmar Gasimov stressed that the selfless and brave peopled died there would never be forgotten. BHOS Rector underlined that the future followers of the said people should love their work, they should be strong enough bearing the title of oilman with honor.
