Baku Higher Oil School hosts closing ceremony of Digital Idea Competition
The Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR (BHOS) has hosted the closing ceremony of the Digital Idea Competition "Promoting Heydar Aliyev's legacy in innovative solutions" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, which was jointly organized by the Central Office of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), NAP Youth Union and BHOS.
First, the participants of the event paid tribute to the dear memory of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan, the National Leader of our people, by laying flowers at his bust in the administrative building of Baku Higher Oil School.
The ceremony started with the performance of the National Anthem. Then, a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
After that, a video about the Digital Idea Competition was screened.
Speaking at the event, NAP Youth Union Chairman Bakhtiyar Islamov provided information about the competition, noting that the main purpose of the competition held within the framework of the Year of Heydar Aliyev was to reveal the innovation-oriented potential of the young activists of the New Azerbaijan Party, to improve their team building skills and to encourage the participation of young people in our country’s innovation ecosystem.
“372 young people from 63 administrative-territorial units of the republic applied for the competition. 120 of them were selected to compete in 30 different teams. The participants took part in the ‘Karabakh dream’ team building activity, ‘Always in our memory’ digital solution concept, ‘Exemplary life’ intellectual round and the ‘On the threshold of 100 years’ historical facts competition. The competitions, conducted with the help of special mentors, consisted of team catalyst, hackathon, intellectual ring, brainstorm, idea generation and project presentation contests and exhibitions. 10 out of 30 teams qualified for the finals. Three winning teams were determined by the jury. Then the winning teams were awarded. The teams that took the first, second, and third places were awarded with diplomas and souvenirs, and the winning team was presented with a trophy. Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party and Head of the Party’s Central Office, presented the awards to the members of the ‘Əbədi’ team, which won the first place in the competition.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party and Head of the Party’s Central Office Tahir Budagov said that 2023 was very significant year for the people of Azerbaijan.
"By the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, 2023 was declared the Year of Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan. Within the framework of the Year of Heydar Aliyev, a series of events are being held both in our republic and abroad, and the rich statesmanship legacy of the wise statesman is being comprehensively analyzed.”
Tahir Budagov emphasized that Heydar Aliyev created the new Azerbaijan reality and laid the solid foundation for our country's bright future.
"The Great Leader rendered unparalleled services to our people both during the Soviet era and the years of independence. Particularly, Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan from destruction by returning to power at the request of the people in June 1993. In a short span of time, stability was restored in the republic, Azerbaijan entered the path of development and took its rightful place as an independent state at the international arena.”
NAP Deputy Chairman stressed that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev always paid great attention and care to the youth of Azerbaijan.
"During the years when the National Leader led our country, purposeful works were done and important steps were taken for the development of young people. The state youth policy founded by Heydar Aliyev is being successfully continued by the President of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Mr. Ilham Aliyev.”
Tahir Budaqov stressed the importance of instilling the eternal ideas of the Great Leader to the new generation.
“The Digital Idea Competition held within the framework of the Year of Heydar Aliyev is important in terms of studying the rich legacy of the Great Leader based on new approaches and strengthening the innovative potential of our youth. Such competitions are important in terms of revealing the intellectual potential of young people, encouraging their active participation in the social and political life of our country, and strengthening communication between young people.”
He emphasized that NAP pays special attention to the development of young people and will always support them.
Rector of Baku Higher Oil School, NAP Board Member Elmar Gasimov presented awards to the members of the "Istiqlal" team, which won the 2nd place in the competition. He noted that important measures are being taken to turn oil capital into human capital in our country.
“Thanks to this policy, our youth have achieved great successes.”
The Rector assessed the turning of such competitions into a tradition, which play an important role in the development of young people, increasing their knowledge and skills, as a positive trend. He noted that the Digital Idea Competition stands out for its uniqueness. Elmar Gasimov emphasized that the competition plays a facilitating role in increasing the potential, knowledge and skills of young people.
"It is commendable that the names of the teams participating in the competition are national. This is an indicator of the loyalty of our youth to national and moral values. The young people who are united in the ranks of the New Azerbaijan Party remain loyal to Heydar Aliyev's ideas and national and moral values.”
NAP Youth Union Chairman Bakhtiyar Islamov presented awards to the "Zafar" team, which won the 3rd place in the competition, and wished success to the team members.
Elshad Mirbashiroglu, a member of the NAP Board, member of the Milli Majlis, presented awards to the members of the "Young Azerbaijanis" team, which won the Intellect Ring. Speaking about the importance of the events held within the Year of Heydar Aliyev, Elshad Mirbashiroglu noted that the New Azerbaijan Party always comes up with creative ideas and that such projects serve the development of young people.
At the end of the event, a commemorative photo was taken with the competition winners.
