The Baku Higher Oil School of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan announces admission to PhD programs in the following specialties for 2023

Admission rules

1. Candidates who are willing to submit documents for doctoral studies must enter the website of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan portal.edu.az, select the service "Student admission and registration of higher and secondary special education institutions" and register in accordance with the instructions.
2. The deadline for submission of documents for doctoral studies is May 16, 23:59.
3. The names of candidates who have not registered on the portal and have not received examination entry confirmation will not be sent to the State Examination Center (hereinafter - SEC) for their participation in the Foreign Language exam.

Admission terms:

1. According to the plan approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have completed a master's degree in higher education (defended a master's thesis) or have an equivalent degree are eligible to be enrolled in the PhD program on a competitive basis.
2. Candidate wishing to be enrolled in the PhD program must score a passing score on the Foreign Language exam (English, German or French), the Philosophy exam (in the scope of the curricula valid for the Master's degree in higher education), and the Specialty Subject exam.
3. The Foreign Language exam is conducted by the SEC. The content of the Foreign Language exam, the time, the procedure for evaluating the exam results and the passing score are determined by the SEC. Holders of a valid international foreign language certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, TestDaF, DALF) are exempt from the Foreign Language exam. The equivalence of the exam results of international foreign language certificate to the passing score is determined by the SEC.
4. Candidates who have not participated in the Foreign Language exam will not be allowed to take the Philosophy exam, and candidate who have not participated in the Philosophy exam will not be allowed to take the Specialty Subject exam.
5. Candidates who score the passing score in the Foreign Language exam to be held by the SEC in June will be allowed to take the Philosophy Exam in September.
6. The Philosophy exam will be held at Baku Higher Oil School. The result of the exam is evaluated as "satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory".

Acceptance of documents

Candidates who have been enrolled in the PhD program should submit the following documents to BHOS at the university campus (Baku city, Sabail district, Yeni Salyan Highway 3rd km, room 382) on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m within a week from the date of the completion of the competition process:  

Application (on behalf of BHOS Rector);

Personnel registration sheet;

Autobiography;

2 photos (3x4 cm);

Employment reference letter;

Extract from the workbook for those with work experience;

The list of published scientific articles or abstract on the chosen specialty;

The abstract should correspond to the chosen specialty, should contain a detailed analysis of relevant scientific problems, and should contain the results of the scientific research;

A copy of the diploma of higher education certified in the appropriate order (a certificate of recognition of education for the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who received education abroad, issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan);

A copy of the identity document.
