Students of Baku Higher Oil School win international competition
Students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has won the "ClimateLaunchpad 2022" international competition.
The "ClimateLaunchpad" competition, co-financed by the European Union, is the world’s largest competition where business ideas are discovered in the field of green technologies, with the participation of 33 countries.
The members of the "GreenPack" team, which won the second place in the competition, are 4th-year students of the Chemical Engineering Department of BHOS: Fuad Taghiyev, Banovsha Mammadzade and Rasul Balamedov.
The main idea of the project presented by them is to make a bio-based coating from food waste.
The mentor of the students is Amir Reza Vakhshuri, the head of the Chemical Engineering Department.
Another winner of the competition is the "Ateshgah" team, which was awarded the 3rd place. The members of the team are 4th year students of the Chemical Engineering Department of BHOS: Fatima Mammadova, Faig Aliyev and Farid Aliyev.
The main goal of the project presented by this team is to increase the efficiency of solar panels.
The mentor of the students is Elmar Askarzadeh, an employee of the Innovation & Research Center of Baku Higher Oil School.
Traditionally, the teams that had gained victory in the annual project participated in the regional finals, which were also attended by European countries.
