Turkish student participating in the Erasmus program of BHOS: ‘The experience I gain here will have a great impact on my career’

Yusuf Bulut is entering his 3rd year of study at the Petroleum Engineering Department of Izmir Katip Celebi University. He was selected from about 200 students for a two-month internship at the Azneft Production Unit of SOCAR, which has been organised within the framework of cooperation of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) with a number of universities on the Erasmus+ student exchange program.

The Turkish student will complete his internship in September. Yusuf Bulut considers his experience at SOCAR a successful step in his education. After graduation, he wants to work and build a career in Azerbaijan.

“Coming here was a great opportunity for me, a good chance. I am glad that my university has sent me to Azerbaijan. After I complete my studies, it will be much easier for me to find a job. The experience I gain here will have a great impact on my career. My experience in SOCAR already occupies an important place in my CV. I will graduate in two years, and I have the goal of returning to Azerbaijan and working here."

Yusuf Bulut says that he will happily share the theoretical and practical knowledge he has gained here with his teachers and fellow students.

"I have gained theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of engineering, learned programs, and had the opportunity to gain knowledge in many areas. I have had a very nice, interesting and useful experience. After returning, I will encourage, guide and advise my teachers and teammates to gain such a great opportunity. I have written a post about my experience here and it has been shared by our university. I mentioned in the post that the students who would come after me would benefit from this chance of gaining such an experience. I also mentioned that I had made friends here. I feel at home in Azerbaijan. Everyone treats me very kindly.”
