Here is an interview with Aflan Badalov:

  • Aflan, congratulations! You showed the best results in the II specialty group exams and you chose Baku Higher Oil School.

  • 6 months ago, I learned that a Business Administration Department will be opened at BHOS. Before that, I saw that the applicants with the highest scores from Baku, Sumgayit and regions choose BHOS. I thought that if this specialty was opened at BHOS, I would choose it. I consider BHOS the most prestigious university in Azerbaijan. Choosing this university is the right decision for my future education, career, my goals, and my social life. BHOS will help me greatly to achieve higher results. Before making the final decision, I made some enquires about the graduates and students of this university. I found that high-level IELTS and ICT classes are held here, and that BHOS has a strong teaching staff and professors. No other university in Azerbaijan offers IELTS classes at such a high level. These are also important factors for studying abroad in the future.

  • What are your plans for the future?

  • I hope that in future I will be holding a high position in the economy. After graduating from BHOS, I will have specific plans and goals for my future education and career.

  • What advice do you have for high-scoring applicants, how should they choose the right university and specialty?

  • Applicants should choose universities that provide a high level of foreign language skills, create conditions for good employment, have rich social programs, as well as extensive ties with foreign universities. In Azerbaijan, BHOS fully meets all these requirements. Applicants should choose BHOS if they want to further develop themselves and succeed in their post-graduate lives.

  • Most applicants feel uneasy during the entrance exams. How did your exams go?

  • I have participated in many exams since the 1st grade, I have taken a lot of practice exams. It is true that any student experiences some sort of stress during the exam.  But I stop feeling nervous as soon as I open the question book. After seeing the questions, I know that I will answer them correctly. Then, I stop feeling nervous and start working on the questions.

  • What advice do you have for applicants and students who want to get high scores?

  • They need to fulfill tasks given them by teachers. Much depends on the teacher. The student must follow the teacher’s instructions and must complete the tasks. It is no longer necessary to do the task, it is enough to do what the teachers advise. It is also important to review periodically what you have learned. All these help students to get high scorers.  I spent only 3-4 hours a day on my lessons. I spent the rest of my time on my social life, family, friends, walking, having fun, playing football, going swimming and playing chess. I also did my lessons from time to time.
