The Participants of Baku Summer Energy School jointly organized by the Caspian Energy and Environment Center of ADA University and SOCAR visited BHOS. Rector Elmar Gasimov said he was pleased to welcome the guests and touched upon the history, main activities and progresses achieved by BHOS since the time of its establishment. Rector stressed that BHOS mainly aimed at educating highly qualified English speaking specialists. He also briefed on petroleum production history of Azerbaijan. E. Gasimov drew attention to the fact that as a result of successful energy strategy started by National Leader Haydar Aliyev and continued by President Ilham Aliyev new oil deposits were discovered at Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Rector said that owing to the mentioned oil strategy the country’s energy security was ensured and the region gained such a reliable supplier as Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that between 4-17 July 2015, the 9th Summer Energy School is being held in Baku organized in cooperation with the Caspian Energy and Environment Center of ADA University and SOCAR. This year it gathered 47 participants from 17 countries. During the two week event, along with highlighting fundamental issues such as political, economic and legal basis of energy, the participants will be able to join lectures and interactive training covering energy, foreign policy and environment topics. The participants are getting acquaintance with various energy related themes including environment, law, economics, management as well as the strategic perspectives of SOCAR.
