Rector Elmar Gasimov was elected the Best Rector of 2014/2015 academic year based on the results of the symbolic voting organized on Azerbaycan Universitetleri Facebook Page. Elmar Gasimov, as the rector of BHOS, the leader in the national university rankings, was awarded this title getting the maximum 41% of other national university students' votes for his reputation among students, the exemplary education and training conditions BHOS offers and close relations of the school with social media.

The similar voting held previously was won by Abel Maharramov, the Rector of Baku State University and Hafiz Pashayev, the Rector of ADA University.
