        Senior teacher of the Physical Education department of Baku Higher Oil School Pyotr who is also a veteran of combat operations in Nagorno-Karabakh received two national recognition awards at once. He was awarded with a medal of war veteran and “The 100^th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan 1918-2008” medal for his military merits and service in the National Army in Nagorno Karabakh.

 

         In 1992-1996, Pyotr Kuvshinov participated in the military operations for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and engaged in combat operations in Agdam, Agdere, Kelbajar, Lachin, Murivdag, Terter and Fizuli. While in the area of the combat operations, he was badly wounded twice. After completing the military service, Pyotr returned to professional career in sports and teaching swimming and water polo. He is a winner of many regional competitions and bears a title of Master of Sports of USSR in water polo. In 2015, Pyotr Kuvshinov participated in the Baku 2015 European Games as a Technical Official. In 2017, he participated in the Baku 2017 4^th Islamic Solidarity Games as a trainer of the national water polo team of Azerbaijan.
