Chemical Engineering, 2020 graduate

- Why did you choose BHOS? Is there anything you would like to highlight regarding your experience at BHOS?

After deciding to be a chemical engineer in my school years, I started to search for universities in this field. Then, I found out about Baku Higher Oil School, it was a completely newly founded university with a promising education system, modern campus, active student life, and then it became my dream and aim to be a part of this university. Thankfully, I achieved my dream in the end.

- What is the most valuable lesson you have learned during your studies at  BHOS? How do you apply it in your daily life?

BHOS education system does not only rely on lectures, projects, but also it invests in student’s soft skills, helps students to gain useful and lifelong habits. “Motivation is temporary, discipline is permanent”. This quote has become my life motto since my BHOS years and proved itself several times, especially if we consider today’s pandemic situation. I believe that with proper time management, planning and organization I can deal with all the problems I come across in my education and career life.

- Can you please tell us briefly about postgraduate study?

I am Master's student and DAAD Scholarship Holder at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany in the field of Advanced Materials and Processes. My interest areas and research portfolio are advanced process engineering, sustainable technologies, and green catalysis. The theoretical and industrial background that I gained at BHOS helps me a lot during my current studies. Besides this, I should mention that self-study is an integral part of the BHOS education system. We worked on several design and scientific projects where we had a chance to develop our research, analytical, and decision-making skills which I take advantage of during my career.

- Can you please tell us briefly about your current job (functions/company/industry)?

Recently, I got admitted to student assistant position in the project of "Hydrogen Storage via Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC)" at Helmoltz Institute Erlangen-Nuremberg for Renewable Energy.
