BHOS undergraduates do internship at Baker Hughes
This summer, five students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) do three-month on-the-job training at facilities of Baker Hughes, one of the world's largest oil field services companies. More than 80 third- and fourth-year students applied to participate in the internship program offered by the company in Azerbaijan. The selection process consisted of two stages, namely test exams and individual interviews. Petroleum Engineering students Orkhan Khankishiyev, Elgun Yusifov and Mohammed Aliyev, and Chemical Engineering students Sahib Abdullayev and Yagub Yusifov, who gained the best scores, were selected as interns.
The program of on-the-job training is implemented in the framework of cooperation between BHOS and Baker Hughes. The Cooperation Agreement signed between the Higher School and the company in 2015, also implies employment opportunities at Baker Hughes for BHOS graduates.
One of them is fifth-year Petroleum Engineering student of the Higher School Emiliya Mamedova who starts to work at Baker Hughes office in Baku as a leading field engineer after graduation from BHOS. She became the company employee as a winner of the several-stage selection process, during which nearly 7,500 job applicants from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia competed to fill vacancies announced by Baker Hughes.
