BHOS professor receives prestigious international award

          Professor of the Chemical Engineering Faculty department of Baku Higher Oil School, Head of Military Hospital of State Border Service of the Azerbaijan Republic, Doctor of Medicine Kanan Yusifzada won Michael Ellis DeBakey Prize, which is one of the most prestigious international medical awards. He was awarded the prize at the annual conference held at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland (the USA) and dedicated to the outstanding cardiac surgeon, scientist, and medical educator. The conference gathers prominent military surgeons from all over the world who award DeBakey Prize for achievements in military medicine. This year, Kanan Yusifzada is awarded for his merits in military medicine administration.

 

           “For me this prize means appreciation of my activities as a doctor and the Head of Military Hospital of State Border Service. Significant changes took place at the hospital last years. We worked hard to improve the quality of health services provided to both military personnel of the State Border Service and other citizens of the country, as now civilians are eligible for the treatment at our hospital, too.”

 

          Professor Kanan Yusifzada has been teaching at BHOS since 2016. He conducts a course entitled “Fundamentals of Medical Aid in Civil Defense”.
