Baku Higher Oil School hosts training on New Teaching Methods

          A three-day training course entitled "New Teaching Methods" is held for academic staff at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), which is set up in compliance with international standards, modern educational plans and advanced technologies for training of highly qualified specialists in petroleum engineering, chemical engineering and process automation engineering.

 

           Speaking at the opening of the training, the Higher School rector Elmar Gasimov underlined the importance of professional development not only for students, but also for lecturers and teachers. Having noted that curriculum at BHOS is in line with world standards, he said that the training was an integral part of the plan of actions aimed at further improvement of the work of the Higher School.

 

             The main purpose of the training is to equip BHOS lecturers and professors with the most up-to-date and effective methods for training future engineers and enable them address issues they face in this field.

 

              The program comprising eight modules included topics such as Review of New Teaching Concepts from Teachers and Students’ Perspectives, New Teaching Techniques, Comparative Analysis of Traditional and New Teaching Methods, and Development of a New Action Plan for Teaching. The training was conducted by Didier Estibals, one of the most professional trainers in the UK's TwentyEighty Strategy Execution company, Master of Business Administration, Risk Management Specialist and instructor of the School of Project Management at BHOS.
