            Rector of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) met with Director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. in chemistry, academician Vagif Abbasov and congratulated him on his 65^th anniversary. The rector said that Vagif Abbasov has played an important role in development of education sphere and petrochemical industry in Azerbaijan and emphasized that the scientist’s activities have been highly appreciated by the society and the government of the country. As Elmar Gasimov reminded, Vagif Abbasov has been bestowed with many awards and honors including an award pin of Advanced Worker of Education, a title of “Honored Teacher of Azerbaijan” and “Shohrat” Order (Order of Glory). BHOS rector wished Vagif Abbasov future success in his work and presented him a Congratulatory address.

 

            Vagif Abbasov has made a significant contribution towards development of national science and education. He is an author of nearly 950 scientific works, 50 patents, 13 monographs, 20 textbooks and 18 study guides. Two hundred sixty seven articles and theses written by the Azerbaijani scientist were published abroad.
