Baku Higher Oil School celebrates fiftieth anniversary of Vugar Rahimzada

Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) held a special event to celebrate fiftieth anniversary of the Editor-in-Chief of “Iki Sahil” newspaper, member of the Management Board of Press Council of Azerbaijan, Ph.D. in political science and associate professor Vugar Rahimzada. The meeting gathered the Higher School management professors, teachers and staff members.

In his opening speech, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov spoke about fruitful and successful activities of Vugar Rahimzada and emphasized that he is one of best journalists fully devoted to his profession. The rector told that Vugar Rahimzada has a great prestige among his colleagues and his merits are recognized by the society due to his services to the country and the people. He has made a significant contribution towards strengthening of the stateness and national unity of Azerbaijan, developing civil society, democratic values and freedom of press, said the Rector. Elmar Gasimov reminded that the government and SOCAR management highly appreciated Vugar Rahimzada services. He is awarded with the title of Honorary Journalist of Azerbaijan and For service to the Fatherland Order, and SOCAR awarded him Certificate of Honor.

Having noted that “Iki Sahil” newspaper is one of the closest media-partner of the Higher School, Elmar Gasimov said that it has been supporting BHOS and highlighting its activities from the very beginning of the Higher School establishment. BHOS Rector extended his congratulations to Vugar Rahimzada, wished him future successes and presented him with Congratulatory Address and a plaquette.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, Editor-in-Chief of “Iki Sahil” newspaper Vugar Rahimzada expressed his sincere gratitude to the management and all staff members of the Higher School for their attitude and the high appraisal of his work. Vugar Rahimzada also said that he was very pleased to be at BHOS, which he considers the most prestigious higher educational institution in Azerbaijan.
