          Third-year Petroleum Engineering students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) participated in a research and practice conference entitled “Mud volcanoes are miracle of the world”. It was organized by Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and Executive Power body of Garadag district of Baku.

 

          Within the conference, the students took a tour to the Dashgil mud volcano located in the Garadag district. During the tour, Head of the Mud Volcanoes department of ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics professor Adil Aliyev provided detailed information about volcanoes. In his words, more than 350 mud volcanoes are registered in Azerbaijan, and they are unique in terms of quantity, composition and activity.
