Implementation of a project entitled “I planted a tree” is successfully continued with support from Youth Foundation under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic. At the first stage, the students participating in the project planted 200 pine trees at the area of Bibi-Heybat oil-and-gas production department of SOCAR. In course of the project, workshops on environmental issues in Azerbaijan and all over the world and activities aimed at overwhelming negative impact on the environment caused by industry and production facilities.

 

The first workshop of the I Planted a Tree was held at Baku Higher Oil School on 3rd December. At the beginning, the project leader A.Beylarli informed the participants about the project objectives as well as about workshops and other events to be conducted. Head of the Education department of the Institute of Botanic of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Rashad Salimov made a presentation on Experience and Work of the ANAS’ Institute of Botanic in the Field of Studying the Diversity of Plants in Azerbaijan. He also told about the Institute’s activities for plants protection, including production of electronic systems and the advantages of their usage.

 

Following workshops of the project shall be conducted at the ANAS’ Botanic Garden and Museum of Zoology.
