On June 17, Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted the International Workshop on "Field development and Onshore/Offshore Production of Hydrocarbon".

Making an opening speech at the event, Elmar Gasimov, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School, said that the goal of the workshop, co-organized by SOCAR and Confidence Capital (Great Britain), was to share Azerbaijan’s practice in oil and gas development and onshore and offshore production of hydrocarbon with the experts of international oil and gas companies. Among the attendees were experts from different countries. Mr. Gasimov also said that the experts of BHOS, Schlumberger, Halliburton, Statoil and TIORCO would submit reports on the topic of the workshop and the attendees would make study tours to oilfields.

Academician Xoshbakht Yusifzada, SOCAR Vice-President for Geology, Geophysics and Field Development, highlighting the history of rich Azerbaijani oil and gas appreciated the event being held at BHOS. He mentioned that will always support for similar SOCAR events and emphasized the key role of such events in ensuring exchange of knowledge and practice between the nations and specialists.

On the dates of 17-19th of June, the attendees of the workshop are expected to be trained on the general characteristics of oil and gas fields’ parameters, regulation of field development, methods for increasing oil recovery, production technologies and etc.

On June 20, the attendees visited the oilfields of "Oil Rocks" oil and gas extraction institutions.
