Somali Ambassador Visits Baku Higher Oil School

Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Azerbaijan, Abdinur Dahir Fidow, visited Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).

BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov provided the Ambassador with a detailed overview of the School’s modern educational infrastructure and academic processes. He highlighted BHOS’s strong academic environment and multicultural community, emphasizing that the School provides Somali students with the necessary facilities and opportunities to support their education and professional development.

Ambassador Abdinur Dahir Fidow expressed his appreciation for the educational opportunities BHOS offers to young Somalis. Noting that 11 of the 50 Somali students currently studying in Azerbaijan are enrolled at BHOS, he expressed his country’s interest in encouraging more Somali students to pursue their studies at the School.

The meeting also focused on expanding educational cooperation, exploring scholarship opportunities, and discussing other areas of mutual interest. The parties agreed to organize Somali Cultural Days at BHOS to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between the two communities.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Ambassador was presented with an Honorary Guest plaque and a commemorative gift.
