SOCAR, Honeywell open Operational Technology Academy at Baku Higher Oil School

The Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) of SOCAR hosted an opening ceremony of the Operational Technology Academy, established as part of a joint partnership between SOCAR and Honeywell, a global technology company providing advanced automation, security and engineering solutions.  

Opening the event with a keynote speech, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov emphasized that the Academy, created at the initiative of SOCAR leadership, will open up important opportunities for specialists from SOCAR and its enterprises, as well as for BHOS faculty and students. Elmar Gasimov added that in the future, the Operational Technology Academy will serve as an invaluable training platform not only for SOCAR and its enterprises, but also for specialists working in various companies across the country.

In her remarks, SOCAR Vice President Ziba Mustafayeva noted that the Operational Technology Academy is one of SOCAR's strategic initiatives aimed at developing human capital. She emphasized that the modern equipment created at the Academy as part of this collaboration with Honeywell will make a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified personnel and their acquisition of extensive practical experience.

The event continued with the screening of a video about the Academy's activities and capabilities.

Honeywell's Regional President for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META), George Bou Mitri, then delivered a speech, noting that the Academy, which was established in a short period of time, is of strategic importance and plays a vital role in training personnel.

At the end of the event, the participants were introduced to training tools and equipment.
