Two BHOS students earn Academician Khoshbakht Yusifzade Scholarship

Two students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) of SOCAR were awarded the Academician Khoshbakht Yusifzade Scholarship.

Thus, based on the results of the 2024/2025 academic year, 5th-year students of the Petroleum Engineering specialty of BHOS Rza Abdullaev and Malik Akgubayev, who scored the highest average score and were recognized as exemplary students, were awarded this scholarship.

Rza Abdullayev entered BHOS in 2020, scoring 657.9 points. He is currently the best student in his specialty. Rza studied at Istanbul Technical University.  He also participated in summer internship programs at SOCAR and BP.

Rza showed the second highest result in republic in master's program entrance exams (90.5 points) for the Russian department.

Malik Akgubayev entered BHOS in 2020, scoring 650.2 points. He is currently the third best student in the faculty.

Malik gained significant practical experience in leading companies such as SOCAR and Kronos ICT. He worked as an engineer in the Integrated Drilling Trust, where he was involved in researching modern drilling technologies.

Malik was a finalist in the ABB Startup Challenge, SOCAR 4SIM and Teknofest competitions. His project “Wind Energy Prospects in the Azerbaijan Region” was awarded 2nd place for its scientific and theoretical value at an international scientific conference.

Malik currently works as a Research Assistant at EI-Group/DRL LLC and continues his scientific and practical activities.
