Nihad Mammadov: I believed in my success
Nihad Mammadov was born 31 July, 1997 in Baku. Three years he studied at the secondary school №269 at Khatai district and then continued his education at the secondary school №17 of the same district. During school years Nihad gained several achievements. He was the winner of the Contest on English Language in 2010 first at the secondary school he was studying then at the Contest that covered Khatai district. After graduating secondary school in 2015 he took the entrance examination and having gathered 696 points he became the first student of the secondary school he successfully finished with such points. In Academic year 2015/16 Nihad Mammadov was admitted to study in BHOS petroleum engineering programme. He is also the winner of the Presidential scholarship.
- How did you find the entrance examination? What was your impression before and after the exam?
- The entrance examination was held very well. Of course I felt nervous before the start. However after examination I felt relief as I believed in my success. Therefore my faith in my own self increased.
- What were the results of the trial exams? Did you believe you could gather high points during the university entrance examination?
- The highest points that I ever gathered during the trial exams made up 665. Nevertheless I believed that I would be able to gather even more. My family and friends trusted and supported me and this was very encouraging.
- Why did you select this very specialization and BHOS? What kind of goals did you pursue?
- When I studied at the secondary school I had a keen interest in petroleum field and I was glad to know about availability of petroleum engineering specialization at BHOS. I selected this specialization because I wanted to be a highly-qualified specialist in future. BHOS offers sufficient opportunities to achieve this goal. Education system here is at the highest level. All courses are conducted in English language and they are totally in line with the programmes of Heriot Watt University, UK.
- Where do you see yourself in future and what are your future plans?
-I want to be educated specialist and make my own contribution in petroleum engineering industry of Azerbaijan. I am convinced I will be able to achieve this in future.
- What do you do at your leisure time? Do you have any hobby?
- I am fond of humanitarian sciences, especially history. At the same time I like reading classic books. I also listen to the music at my leisure. I also like sport, especially football.
