Baku Higher Oil School launches Summer School for German engineers
Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR (BHOS) has launched the International Summer School Project on “Energy Transition in Oil-Producing Countries", implemented with financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
16 students studying at various prestigious German universities are participating in the project.
At the opening ceremony of the Summer School, which will last for 2 weeks, Head of Erasmus+ International Programs Office of Baku Higher Oil School, Humay Azayeva, talked about the importance of the Summer School and introduced the participants to the project.
She said that seminars on the energy transition of Azerbaijan will be held for the participants, who will be informed about the work done in this field and have the opportunity to get acquainted with the history and national values of our country.
BHOS professors Siyavush Azakov, Fuad Valiyev, associate professor Rauf Nadirov greeted the German students and expressed confidence that this Summer School will be useful for them and they will get the necessary information.
After the ceremony, the students toured the university campus and laboratories there.
On the same day, Deputy Head of SOCAR's Strategic Management and Innovations Department, Tabriz Ammayev, conducted seminars on the topics "Azerbaijan's green energy potential", "SOCAR's energy strategy", and BP's External Relations Manager for the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey region, Gunash Aliyeva, conducted a seminar on the topic "Azerbaijan's energy policy".
It is for the third time the Summer School Project is being implemented at Baku Higher Oil School. As part of the project, BHOS professors and teachers will hold classes on “Azerbaijan's energy policy”, “Renewable energy sources”, “The Law of Entropy and global energy challenges”, “Fight against climate change in Azerbaijan”, “Energy transition/digitalization, cyber security and geothermal energy”. Meetings will be organized for the participants of the Summer School at SOCAR's Head Office and BP. Excursions will be arranged for the participants to visit sugarcane mountains in Shaki, Guba, Khizi regions, Gobustan National Historical and Artistic Reserve, Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, Shirvanshahs' Palace, Ateshgah Temple, and mud volcanoes.
The participants who have successfully completed the Summer School will be awarded certificates.
