The ‘Development of Strategic Leaders’ training program of the Leadership Academy, which will be held at BHOS under the joint organization of SOCAR and Bogazici University, has been launched

On January 31, 2023, an event was held in the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) within the framework of the “Development of Strategic Leaders” training program of the Leadership Academy. The event was jointly organized by SOCAR and Turkey-based Bogazici University.

The delegation led by Rector of Bogazici University Prof. Mehmet Naci Inci first visited the Exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan Oil Exhibition at SOCAR.

Then, a meeting was held between the delegations of SOCAR and Bogazici University.

At the meeting, the President of SOCAR Rovshan Najaf spoke about the importance of organizing the "Development of Strategic Leaders" training program together with Bogazici University, the fraternal country’s university, which has an ancient history and rich experience. Speaking about SOCAR's Corporate Strategy, Rovshan Najaf noted that the application of digital and innovative technologies and the development of highly qualified human resources potential in the company's enterprises are priority directions of the Company’s policy. 

Speaking at the meeting, the Rector of Bogazici University Prof. Mehmet Naci Inci emphasized the importance of the "Development of Strategic Leaders" training program of the Leadership Academy, adding that the program is of particular importance in terms of developing leadership qualities and improving the efficiency of management. The rector lauded SOCAR's long-term goals and the work done in the direction of human capital development. He emphasized that joint cooperation within the "Development of Strategic Leaders" training program will make an important contribution to strengthening highly qualified human resources potential.

Speaking at the meeting, the Rector of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Elmar Gasimov highlighted the successful development of cooperation between BHOS and Bogazici University, one of the world's prestigious educational institutions. Recalling that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the sides in November 2021, the rector said that during the past period, necessary steps have been taken to strengthen cooperation between the two universities.  

Then, an agreement on the "Development of Strategic Leaders" training program of the Leadership Academy was signed between SOCAR and Bogazici University. The sides also signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Implementation of Joint Programs.

After the meeting, the opening ceremony of the "Development of Strategic Leaders" training program of the Leadership Academy was held at BHOS with the participation of SOCAR's leadership and BHOS teachers and students.

The lecture on "Energy Economy" by the Vice-Rector of Bogazici University, Gürkan Kumbaroğlu, was received with interest by the participants of the training program.
