Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has organised a meeting of students with the participants and veterans of the Second Karabakh War and the April battles within the framework of the “44-Day Saga” project dedicated to the Victory in 44-day Patriotic War.
Ahliyet Mehdiyev, Ilgar Nurmammadov, Mobil Ahmadzade, Elshad Tahmazov, Hasan Yagubov, Elvin Aliyev and Ramil Asgarov, who were awarded many orders and medals for the heroism they showed in the battles for the liberation of our lands from occupation, took part in the event.
First, the dear memory of the martyrs who died for the freedom of our land was commemorated with a minute's silence, and the National Anthem was played. Then, a video material dedicated to the Victory Day was shown.
The purpose of the meeting was to promote and inculcate patriotism and national-moral values among students and to introduce our heroic veterans and warriors to the society, especially to young people.
Head of the Career and Student Affairs Department of BHOS, Emil Aslanli, welcomed the guests, saying that he was proud to see them at the university. He stressed that each of our martyrs and veterans is an example for students and young people.
Then, the veterans shared memories of their glorious war paths and joy of Victory. Commemorating the memory of their heroically martyred comrades in arms, the veterans said that they had wreaked vengeance on the enemies for the blood shed by the martyrs in the war for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The veterans emphasized that the youth must defend our lands freed from occupation at the cost of the lives of our soldiers and officers and must become soldiers in their activity fields.
At the end of the meeting, the veterans answered the students’ questions.
The “44-Day Saga” project was implemented with the organisational support of the Youth Fund, Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations’ Union, and the “Great Return” Youth Organization.
