A meeting was held with BHOS students on the topic ‘The role of solidarity in the revival of Karabakh’

The Karabakh Revival Fund has again started holding meetings with young people.

Thus, a meeting was held on October 13 with the students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) on the topic “The role of solidarity in the revival of Karabakh”.

Rector of Baku Higher Oil School, Elmar Gasimov, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, Rahman Hajiyev, member of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, MP Tural Ganjaliyev, and BHOS students took part in the meeting.

Speaking at the event, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov expressed his satisfaction with the fact that such an important event was taking place at Baku Higher Oil School.  The rector noted that young people and students play an important role in the sacred mission of restoring Karabakh.

“Our victory in the Patriotic War is one of the most glorious pages of our history. Presently, we have an important task of restoring the territories freed from occupation. Our people showed solidarity in the struggle for the liberation of Karabakh from occupation, and I am confident that we will show the solidarity in the restoration of our holy lands, as well.  I believe that young people will also contribute to the process of restoring our lands destroyed by the enemy. Such awareness measures are also important for the active participation of young people in this process.”

Touching upon the cooperation between BHOS and the Karabakh Revival Fund, Elmar Gasimov stressed that this cooperation will play an important role in educating students about the activity of the Fund, including the restoration and construction works carried out in the territories freed from occupation.

Then, the video clip “Urbicide in Karabakh”, the idea author of which is Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was shown. The video clip was created with the use of the materials of the internet resource “Karabakh.Center” (https://karabakh.center/az).

Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, Rahman Hajiyev, gave detailed information to the participants of the meeting about the main directions of the activities of the Karabakh Revival Fund, the work done and the planned projects. Rahman Hajiyev said that among the tasks of the institution were the promotion of the process of attracting investments to the Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the development of public-private sector partnership, as well as the dissemination of information about the history of Karabakh, the real scale of damage caused by the Armenian occupation, and the process of restoration of this region among the local and international communities. The chairman informed the participants about the scale of the destruction in the territories freed from occupation, noting that the elimination of the consequences of the destructions and the restoration of residential areas and infrastructure is a process that requires a lot of money and time.

"The extent of destruction in the liberated territories is very large. Many cities and villages were almost wiped out. At present, serious construction works are being carried out in these areas. New roads and airports are being built, and the infrastructure is being restored. Still, there are too many things to be done, and it should be emphasized that Azerbaijan is doing all these things using its own strength and capabilities. Therefore, each of us should support the state, show solidarity and participate closely in the reconstruction of Karabakh.”

Rahman Hajiyev also spoke about the role of students and young people in the restoration process.

“Today's students are tomorrow's businessmen and investors. They will actively participate in the socio-economic life of the country by holding important positions and will contribute to the restoration of the liberated territories. So, it is very important for us, as a Fund, to hold regular meetings with students and young people and to learn their thoughts and suggestions.”

Member of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, MP Tural Ganjaliyev, shared his views on the restoration of territories liberated from occupation, the return of Azerbaijanis to these territories and other issues.

“Almost everything was destroyed and razed to the ground in the liberated territories. Nonetheless, I believe that we will restore our cities, villages and historical monuments.  We often visit these areas and every time during our visits we witness the rapid progress of restoration and construction works. I can say with certainty that after all these works are completed, Karabakh will become one of the most beautiful places in the world.”

Tural Ganjaliyev emphasized the importance of holding such meetings with young people and expressed confidence that they will contribute to the reconstruction of Karabakh.

After the speeches, the meeting continued with discussions and a question-and-answer session.

It should be noted that the Karabakh Revival Fund plans to hold similar meetings in other educational institutions for the purpose of educating young people.
