Baku Higher Oil School hosts presentation on ‘Risks and their management in educational institutions’

Senior Risk Management Engineer of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), Elvin Kazimli, has made a presentation on the topic “Risks and their management in educational institutions” for BHOS employees.

First, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov congratulated Siyavush Azakov, a BHOS teacher and professor of the Petroleum Engineering Department, who had been awarded the “Progress” medal for services to the development of the oil industry in Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “On awarding oil industry workers of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, and wished him success in his activities. Then, Elmar Gasimov presented awards to Deputy Chief Accountant of the Economics and Accounting Department of BHOS, Natig Gurbanov, who had been awarded the “Honorary Oilman” badge for distinguished work by the order of SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, and Head Teacher of the English Language and Humanitarian Courses Center, Nurlana Imanova, who had been awarded the Certificate of Honor. Elmar Gasimov congratulated the BHOS employees and wished them success. The rector then expressed his views on the presentation. He noted that Baku Higher Oil School
is a higher education institution that provides high-quality education and personnel training. “Our university has won the trust of the people, and we are proud of this. We must maintain this high reputation and trust. Today, we live in a fast-paced and competitive environment. Of course, risks arise amidst the processes ongoing across the world. In order to endure the competition, risks must be constantly assessed and appropriate steps must be taken to manage them. BHOS always takes strategic steps to prevent risks. I believe that today's training will be useful in this regard.”

In his presentation, Senior Risk Management Engineer of Baku Higher Oil School, Elvin Kazimli, spoke about the main risks for educational institutions and the methods for their prevention. It was noted that in the modern world certain risks arise in every institution. Although these risks are usually assessed as financial risks, contingency risks should always be considered. The presentation continued in an interactive form.

Head of the Risk Management Department of SOCAR's Head Office, Ramil Heydarov, spoke  about the importance of flexibility in risk management, noting that collective action is the key to success in this field. He emphasized that a good example of this has been created at BHOS.
