Teacher and students of Baku Higher Oil School participate in international summit in Poland
The teacher and several students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) have participated in the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit held in Warsaw, Poland. They are Aygul Musayeva, a senior lecturer at the Process Automation Engineering Department; Jamila Abilova, 3rd year student at the Process Automation Engineering Department; Sona Mehdizade, 4th year student at the Process Automation Engineering Department; Shams Gozalova, 4th year student at the Information Security Department; Asra Bayramova, 4th year student at the Information Security Department; Elza Gurbanova, 3rd year student at the Information Security Department; Radmila Musayeva, 2nd year student at the Information Security Department.
The BHOS teacher and students successfully passed the selection process held among universities and were awarded full scholarships, earning the right to represent BHOS at the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit.
The summit, organized by the Perspektywy Education Foundation, was attended by thousands of women working in the field of information technology, technology and science from about 100 countries. The summit covered such topics as Information Technology, Cyber Security, Management, and Climate Change. The purpose of the summit is to support innovation processes in the field of IT and new technologies, as well as to promote high quality IT education. The summit serves as an international platform for exchanging best practices in the field of cooperation between higher education, new technology-based industry and the startup community and providing international support to young women wishing to build a career in the field of science and technology.
Experts from various internationally renowned companies such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Bloomberg, Cisco, Intel, IBA, Bayer, P&G made presentations at the summit. The program of the two-day summit included meetings with technology, cybersecurity, IT and management experts; inspiring, motivating and interesting presentations; mentoring sessions and networking sections. Intellectual competitions and award ceremonies were also held as part of the event. In addition, the participants of the summit attended meetings with IT and technology experts, prospective employers and executives and received information on scholarship, internship and job opportunities.
