Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR starts cooperation with IBA

Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR and the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document was signed by Rector of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Elmar Gasimov and Chairman of the IBA Board Abbas Ibragimov.

The memorandum provides for organizing internships for BHOS students and graduates, creating opportunities for their career growth, ensuring the participation of BHOS students and graduates in research projects, providing support to student startups through the ABB Innovation Center, etc.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Rector Elmar Gasimov said that Baku Higher Oil School started cooperating with IBA for the first time and that this cooperation would open up great opportunities for students.

“It is very important for us to cooperate with IBA, one of the leading banks in the region. This will play an important role in the future career of our students and the development of their skills. 11 BHOS graduates work for IBA. We believe that this figure will increase in the future, and more students will have the opportunity to practice in the bank. At the same time, the memorandum contributes to creating a useful integration between science, education and business.”

Chairman of the IBA Board Abbas Ibragimov said that the bank is seeking to contribute to the future of our society. Therefore, cooperation with educational institutions occupies a special place among IBA's corporate values.

“Most of our talented young people grow up in our universities. Through such cooperation, we create new opportunities for the younger generation. IBA has already taken a number of successful steps in this direction. These include the creation of projects such as the IBA Tech Academy and the IBA Innovation Center to attract talented youth and unlock their creative potential. We believe that our multifaceted cooperation with Baku Higher Oil School will be useful in all respects.”

At the end of the event, Chairman of the IBA Board Abbas Ibragimov was awarded a diploma of "Honored Guest".
