BHOS students take trip to Dashgil mud volcano

First-year students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) majoring in Petroleum Engineering have taken a trip to the Dashgil mud volcano.

More than 50 students of the BHOS Petroleum Engineering Department took part in the excursion led by Samira Musayeva, the head of this department, and Rashad Nazaraliyev, a teacher at this department. 

First, the associate professor of the department Rauf Nadirov delivered a lecture.

The Dashgil mud volcano is located on the Salyan Highway in Baku. It is one of the magnificent mud volcanoes of Azerbaijan due to the diversity of morphological forms on the surface of the volcano and its activity based on med, water and gas eruptions from various volcanic forms.

Students who observed the process live were given information about the origin, structural details, lithology and evolution of mud volcanism, and breccia samples were collected from the volcano.

The students received answers to their questions.
