Baku Higher Oil School hosts award ceremony for Teknofest teams

Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has hosted an award ceremony for the teams and winners of the Teknofest-2022 Aerospace and Technology Festival.

Speaking at the ceremony, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov congratulated the winners and participants and said, “The teams of Baku Higher Oil School participated in this major Turkish festival, which was held for the first time in Azerbaijan, and they managed to achieve great success by showing high performance and distinguishing themselves among the country's universities. Students of Baku Higher Oil School had been preparing for this festival for 5 months with serious and great responsibility. 33 teams bearing national names had applied to the festival. 25 teams reached the second stage of the festival, and 16 teams advanced to the final. The national names chosen by our teams brought us success. By winning awards at such a large international festival, the BHOS students have further enhanced the high reputation of our university. Thus, we have once again proved our adherence to Mr. President Ilham Aliyev's slogan ‘We must turn oil capital into human capital’’.

Stressing that the Teknofest festival has created great opportunities for young people implementing startups and innovative projects, the rector expressed confidence that more BHOS students will participate in the festival in the future.

Then, Fuad Mammadzade, the captain of “Istiglal” team, which won first place in the “CanSat Amateur Satellite Modeling” competition, the mentor of this team Ramil Shukurov, who is a BHOS graduate and teacher, Farid Aliyev, the captain of the “Ateshgah” team, which won the “Green Technologies” competition, the mentor of this team Murad Rahimov, who is a BHOS graduate, and other Teknofest participants shared their impressions.

Congratulating the winners and participants of Teknofest, professors of Baku Higher Oil School Siyavush Azakov and Fuad Valiyev, Head of the Process Automation Engineering Department, Associate Professor Naila Allahverdiyeva wished success to the young people and gave them their recommendations.

Speaking at the event, Elchin Shikhli, a writer, publicist and well-known journalist, praised the friendly atmosphere at Baku Higher Oil School and the success of young people, stressing that the students are in safe hands.  He also gave recommendations to young people.

Then, awards were presented to all the teams that reached the finals of Teknofest, as well as to the employees who supported the teams.

6 BHOS teams won 8 prizes in 6 B-category competitions.
