NASA awards Baku Higher Oil School’s team
The BHOS team of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has been awarded a Certificate of Participation by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. The team was awarded this certificate for its successful participation in NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge.
For the first time in the history of independent Azerbaijan, our country was represented by BHOS students in this competition.
The certificate is awarded to the teams that successfully complete the 9 month-competition by fulfilling various competition requirements such as drawing reports, making presentations, doing assignments.
Founded in July last year, the BHOS NASA HERC 2022 team qualified for the finals as a result of 9 months of its activity and competed with 90 teams from 8 other countries, including teams representing prestigious US universities. The team consists of consultant Aygul Musayeva, team leader Nihad Habizade, Anar Alizade, Shamistan Latifov, Javid Isayev, Ayten Sadirova, Shams Gozalova, Turan Safarova and 12 BHOS students.
NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge is an annual event that challenges students to create a human-powered vehicle designed to traverse the simulated surface of another world and complete mission tasks along the way. The international competition tests students' skills in engineering and organizing STEM projects. Every year, high school and university teams from around the world compete in this competition.
