BHOS students join UNESCO project

Several students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) are participating in the project "Increasing the participation of girls in engineering education for sustainable development", which is funded by the UNESCO and implemented by the Azerbaijan Technical University (ATU).

These students are Fatima Ahmadzade, Fidan Mammadli, first-year students of the Process Automation Engineering Department, and Asuda Sadigova, a first-year student of the Chemical Engineering Department.

The aim of the project is to study international experience in expanding the participation of girls in engineering education and engineering-oriented professions and to identify the opportunities and challenges that arise for women in this area. The project also aims to promote this area in Azerbaijan and develop the skills and abilities of girls so that could participate in more competitive professions.

BHOS students took part in a conference and training on the topic “Everyone is strong in engineering”, organized within the framework of the above-mentioned project. The conference was attended by leaders, teachers and students of higher and secondary educational institutions in Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of various industrial enterprises, the private sector and public associations.

The five-day training was aimed at increasing the competitiveness of girls in the modern Engineering Labor Market. Along with the students of Baku Higher Oil School, young female students studying engineering at the Baku Engineering University and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University attended the training.

At the end of the training and the conference, the BHOS students made a presentation.

The project provides for a series of activities aimed at increasing the participation of girls in engineering education in Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that as part of the project, a series of workshops will be held for students under the heading "Career Days" in order to increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
