BHOS student wins Republican Olympiad

The final stage of the "Step into the Future-2" Republican Olympiad, organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG), has ended.

Orkhan Mammadov, a first-year master's student of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) majoring in Field Assessment and Management, became the winner of the Olympiad.  Orkhan Mammadov was awarded first place for his research work on "Water scarcity as a global problem of our time: causes and solutions", which he carried out under the scientific guidance of Associate Professor Gasham Zeynalov.

The competition dedicated to Science Day (March 27) was held among students majoring in Geology and Geophysics.

The main purpose of the "Step into the Future-2" Republican Olympiad was to assess  the level of knowledge of III-IV year students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions and I-II year master’s students, to guide them, and to stimulate their interest in professional science.

38 students from 5 institutions, including 14 bachelors and 24 master’s students, took part in the competition.

By the decision of the Organizing Committee, Orkhan Mammadov was awarded 800 manats.
