Successful graduate of Baku Higher Oil School and engineer at a global company: ‘Here students first learn to learn’

Orkhan Alizadeh is a 2019 graduate of the Chemical Engineering Department of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS). Currently, he works as a production engineer at the Petkim Petrochemical Complex in Izmir, an asset of SOCAR in Turkey.

Congratulating Baku Higher Oil School on its 10th anniversary, the successful BHOS graduate says he will always be proud to bear the name of this university. Orkhan Alizadeh emphasizes that the environment created by BHOS and its requirements only serve the development of students.

“Here, students first learn to learn. Young people who are advancing in the educational path opened for them by the university, even after graduation, carry the spirit of the BHOS family, striving for their constant development and progress. This university prepares young people for the requirements of the modern business world. It is a great honor to see that BHOS has been fulfilling this honorable mission for 10 years for our society and state. I sincerely congratulate the administrative and teaching staff, all our students and graduates, and especially our rector, who spared no effort to achieve and continue such success."

Orkhan Alizadeh, who started acquiring practical experience while still a student, has represented our country and BHOS in many international arenas.

“During our student years, both individually and as a group leader, we mastered technical subjects and essential scientific and technological knowledge that were important for the understanding and application of the concept of engineering. As a result, as a young engineer, I participated in and spoke at international conferences in countries such as Switzerland and Spain. Thanks to the knowledge and experience I gained at BHOS, I have participated in projects implemented in the field of engineering, and I have conducted research on topical issues in this field”.

The successful BHOS graduate says that the university teaches students many skills in addition to proving them with a high level of education.

“BHOS students have the opportunity to both undertake an internship and carry out scientific activities. We are currently doing a lot of work at the Polypropylene and High Density Polyethylene plants. Of course, in the process of work we face engineering-process-oriented issues. It is important to timely find efficient solutions to counter these problems that hinder development. To resolve these problems, I resort to my technical knowledge, experience and skills, as well as to my personal qualities such as creativity, leadership and communication skills, which I acquired at BHOS”.
