The team of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), which, for the first time in the history of Azerbaijan, will participate in the Human Exploration Rover Challenge to be held by NASA in 2022, has made a presentation in preparation for the competition.

The presentation covered a rover design, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) project and security topics. The students provided information about the work done in these areas.

The presentation was made by the team leader, 3rd year student of the Process Automation Engineering Department Nihad Habizadeh, team members:  4th year student of the Process Automation Engineering Department Aytan Sadirova, 4th year student of the Chemical Engineering Department Javid Isayev.

After the presentation, NASA experts held a question-and-answer session and gave some advice to the team.

The NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge will be held in April. Only Baku Higher Oil School will represent Azerbaijan in this international competition, in which 91 teams from 23 secondary and higher educational institutions from 8 countries will participate.

NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, which has been held for 28 years, is an annual event that challenges high school and university students to create a human-powered vehicle designed to traverse the simulated surface of another world and complete mission tasks along the way. Student teams design, build and test technologies that enable rovers to perform in a variety of environments. The international competition involves testing students' skills in engineering and organizing STEM projects.
