Open day was held at Baku Higher Oil School.

BHOS rector Elmar Gasimov welcomed and cordially congratulated prospective students who gathered more than 600 points during entrance exams according to first specialization group and their parents.

E. Gasimov gave detailed information about BHOS activities. He stated that the goal of establishment of higher oil school was educating highly qualified English speaking specialists who would meet international, contemporary standards of the industry.

Stressing that engineering specialization is now the most required one at current labor market, BHOS rector assured the prospective students that education at BHOS would enable them to build career at the leading petroleum companies of the world making them the most required specialists. While stressing the fact that BHOS educates students according to the requirements of a number of well-recognized companies such as BP, Statoil, Halliburton, Emerson, IBM, etc. Mr. Gasimov said that the mentioned companies offer job to BHOS students which serves as vivid manifestation of BHOS successes and reputation.

E. Gasimov emphasized the role of SOCAR management in providing necessary conditions for BHOS students. Rector also underlined close cooperation currently existing between BHOS having solid material and technical basis and leading global educational institutions and transnational petroleum companies functioning in Azerbaijan. Based on these partnership relations BHOS students enjoy broad educational and future career opportunities while mastering practical skills along with relevant theoretical knowledge.

Underlying the close cooperation existing between BHOS and Heriot-Watt University of UK, BHOS Rector mentioned that education at BHOS realized in frames of the said cooperation is in line with programs of Heriot-Watt University and every year distinguished BHOS students have the opportunity to spend one semester at the mentioned UK University.

BHOS students who took part at the meeting shared their impressions and views about high level education, student life and internship experience at various companies with the prospective students.

After the Q&A session the prospective students and their parents thanked BHOS rector for the interesting meeting.
