The textbook ‘Fundamentals of Chemistry’, compiled by the teacher of Baku Higher Oil School, has been published in English
 

In recent years, there has been a growing need to provide students studying at universities in Azerbaijan in English language with modern textbooks.
 

In this connection, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), Associate Professor Sevda Fatullayeva compiled the textbook “Fundamentals of Chemistry”, which meets the present-day requirements.
 

The textbook, consisting of 200 pages and 3 chapters, has been published in an edition of 200 copies.

 

The manual is intended for preparatory course students who are studying in English language and preparing for a university admission exam in chemistry, as well as for university students majoring in chemistry and engineering.
 

The textbook was compiled in accordance with the Education Programme on Chemistry, which was developed for students of chemical specialties studying at universities in Azerbaijan, and was approved by the Ministry of Education.

 

The manual, developed with the use of many years of practice, sets out in detail the university admission program and the specifics of studying abroad.

 

The main purpose of this textbook is to provide preparatory course students with concise, structured, written teaching material on chemistry.
 

This manual will be a very valuable resource for students as it covers theoretical issues related to general, inorganic and organic chemistry.

 

The book sets out the fundamentals and theories of chemistry, in particular, the structure of matter; solutions; fundamentals of chemical thermodynamics; electrochemistry; chemical kinetics; concepts of acids and bases; classification of elements; production methods, properties and application of inorganic and organic compounds.
 

Each chapter of the manual contains an important brief theoretical information, as well as links to various sources of foreign literature.
 

The textbook is recommended for students of Baku Higher Oil School and other universities.
