Trainings organized for young engineers by Baku Higher Oil School and bp have completed

Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has completed the project on Training Young Engineers in Management and Business Skills, which was organized within a grant agreement concluded between BHOS and the company bp.
Speaking at an event organized on this occasion, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov noted that the main goal of the project is to help engineers improve their technical knowledge, skills and decision-making methods so that they meet the present-day requirements of employers.
Speaking about the positive impact of the modules taught within the project on the daily and career life of the participants, the rector noted that engineering students who want to become professionals, along with academic and technical knowledge, are acquiring social skills, which is a requirement of modern times.
“In the global labor market, preference is given to specialists who possess both technical and social skills. Today, management and business skills are a basic requirement for working as an engineer at multinational companies. Therefore, engineering students who want to become highly qualified socialists must acquire not only academic and technical knowledge, but also management and business skills. In this regard, the project on Training Young Engineers in Management and Business Skills is of particular importance,” the rector said.
Media and communications manager at bp-AGT Tamam Bayatli noted that the project is one of BP's educational programs and that its implementation will continue in the future. She said that the project covers modules such as leadership skills, project management, financial management, and human resources, which play an important role in strengthening the basic knowledge of staff.
Speaking at the event, Events and Brand Communications Manager at BP Zaur Jabrayil and the training participants placed a special emphasis on the importance of the project.
Note that representatives of Azerbaijan Technical University, the Ministry of Energy, the Training Center of Azerishig OJSC, the SOCAR’s Department of Geophysics and Geology, the SOCAR’s Integrated Drilling Trust, the Azneft Production Union, the SOCAR’s Industrial Security Department, SOCAR Methanol Plant, and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University took part in the trainings.
This social project offers engineers a training program in 8 modules: Leadership and Teams: How to Motivate Others, Project Management and Risks, Financial Management, Human Resources, Change Management, Design Thinking, Flexible Management, Compliance with Ethical Standards and Requirements. Trainings are conducted in English language.
The project, which is managed by Baku Higher Oil School, is open to young engineers from all organizations in the country.
The total cost of the project is 258,000 manats.
