Meeting with BHOS students who volunteered at Baku 2015 First European Games was held at the higher school.

Mr. Farhad Hajiyev, Executive Director of Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and the member of the Organizing Committee of the Games joined the meeting. Opening the event BHOS rector Elmar Gasimov emphasized high level of organization of the Games and stressed that this triumphant event became a historic one creating an opportunity for promoting our country and national values. He also added that Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, highly appreciated the volunteers’ activities. Recalling the gratitude extended at the closing ceremony to the volunteers by First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva chairing the Organizing Committee, Mr. Gasimov underlined that the Games turned to be the forum for communication, enlargement of world outlook, and the possibility of learning new cultures for the volunteers, adding that thanks to the Games the volunteers could gain new experience while initiating a systematic volunteering experience in the country. The Rector thanked the BHOS volunteers for their special service rendered during the Games.

Mr. Hajiyev talked about the significance of the First European Games for Azerbaijan. He highly valued BHOS students’ participation as volunteers stressing that their work was exceptional and became one of the success factors. Therefore, he continued, it was not by chance that everyone was pleased.

Speaking about the scope of the volunteers’ movement Mr. Hajiyev pointed out that in general around 20,000 volunteers who fulfilled their duties at high level, participated in the Games. He thanked the BHOS volunteers for their activities.
