Baku Higher Oil School successfully completes next Business Education for Engineers program
Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted a meeting with a group of the students who had successfully completed the next, fourth in a row, Business Education for Engineers training program, which is a joint project of BHOS and BP company.
Out of about 150 candidates who had applied for the training, 100 students meeting the program’s criteria were selected.
The selected candidates are students of Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijani-French University, Baku Engineering University, Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Khazar University and the National Aviation Academy.
Experienced specialists from different companies were involved in teaching the two-month program.
The Business Education for Engineers program consists of the following modules: Presentation and Communication Skills, Project Management, Time Management and Efficiency, Leadership, Risk Management, Introduction to Finance, Budget and Cost Control, HR Management Fundamentals, and Negotiation Skills.
The students who had successfully completed the training program received joint certificates from BHOS and BP.
Speaking at the ceremony dedicated to the successful completion of the next Business Education for Engineers program, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov noted that the main purpose of the project is to develop leadership and management skills of engineering students, as well as expand career opportunities for them.
“The main goal is to teach young engineers business skills, basic principles, leadership skills, business competencies and other necessary skills and knowledge in order to make them highly educated, intellectually developed specialists,” the rector said.
Speaking at the event, the fourth-year student of Azerbaijan-French University Sevinj Abbasova and the fourth-year student of Azerbaijan Technical University Elvin Shirinov shared their impressions of the project.
